How many times have you tried to quit smoking but fail? There are millions of people worldwide who are looking to quit smoking. Smoking brings with it many health problems, including heart diseases, cancer and stroke. Yet, many of us are unable to quit for good. Why is that so? Nicotine dependency? Or lack of willpower? This article will outline the few possible ways to quit smoking.

1. Using Nicotine Replacement Therapy products such as sprays, gums, patches, and inhalers. They contain nicotine and act as cigarette alternatives. The advantage with nicotine replacement therapy is that you can gradually reduce the nicotine dosage until you no longer need it. However, this will lengthen your nicotine dependency and you might turn back to cigarettes.

2. Identify the reason for smoking. Do you smoke when you feel stressed? Do you need a cigarette following your meals? Identify the situation when you crave for a cigarette and steer clear of it when the urge to smoke arises. If you have the inclination of smoking at certain places, avoid visiting them for the time being, especially pubs.

3. Go cold turkey. Most people fail using this method because the urge to smoke is too great. However, the advantage of using cold turkey is that you are overcoming the dependency on nicotine immediately. This takes a lot of willpower though.

4. Reminding yourself once you wake up & last thing before you turn in for the night. By repeatedly reminding yourself each day, you are putting new ideas into your mind, which will become a reality after some time. You can say things such as 'Today is a brand new day & I am not going to spoil it with a smoke' or 'Tomorrow shall be the best day ever because I will not touch a stick'.

5. Inform those around you that you are quitting. They will be happy with your efforts and will remind you when you have the urge to smoke. When you have the support of those you love, the chances of quitting will be much higher.

Stopping smoking is not as difficult as it seems. You need to learn these simple tricks to quit smoking forever!

Most of us have absolutely no idea where to start when we want to stop smoking marijuana. It's good that you have made this choice, but if you don't know what you're doing, trying to quit smoking weed can be an absolute nightmare. Therefore in this article i would like to provide you with some tips to stop smoking marijuana.

1) Have a quit date in mind - You need to be totally prepared in order to stop smoking marijuana. Many people make the mistake of thinking they will quit smoking weed as soon as they have finished their current stash. You know as well as me this never works and you end up buying another baggy anyway. The best idea is to set a date approximately one month in the future. Gradually cut down on the amount of weed your are smoking over the next month and then you can completely give up on your "quit date".

2) Try and understand your addiction - Most weed smokers will swear blind that they are not addicted. They will even tell you that marijuana is not addictive! Sorry, but that is just not true. Marijuana is not physically addictive like alcohol, however, it does form a psychological addiction. You are constantly chasing that next "high" and you tell yourself that you will be totally relaxed and at ease as soon as you have a joint! If that is not an addiction, then i don't know what is. I kidded myself for over 12 years that i didn't have an addiction and could give up whenever i wanted! However, i always found myself craving my next hit or high!

3) Make a clean break - In order to stop smoking marijuana it is important that you get rid of all your drug gadgets and paraphernalia. Having items such as papers, grinders, bongs and roach material around you can be just too tempting. Either give all these items to a friend or simply throw them away. When your quit date comes, you want to be rid of everything that you associate with pot. This will make it a lot easier to quit smoking weed.

4) Be prepared for a rough journey - When you stop smoking marijuana, it's tough...really tough. You may have physical withdrawal symptoms for the first few days, but these will eventually go. You may lose your appetite, be unable to sleep and you will be constantly craving and thinking about weed. It is so easy to just give up at this stage and start smoking again, however if you do that you may never quit smoking weed. Just be prepared and understand that it is going to be difficult. Often once you get passed the first 3-4 days, it actually becomes far easier to finally stop smoking marijuana!

Smokers may wish there was a magic bullet - a pill or method that would make quitting painless and easy. But there is nothing like that. Here are three stop smoking tips below that may help you kick the habit:

1. Stop Smoking Hypnosis

This can be the key for breaking the multiple addictions associated with smoking. People who try to quit smoking soon realize it is not easy. Hypnosis can help some stop smoking and send them a message they will carry with them for life! Many have said this method has now given them a new lease on life. While I listed this at the top of the 3 stop smoking tips, it may not fit everyone.

2.Stop Smoking Laser Treatments

These have been used in Europe for 30 years and Canada for 20 years with an 80% success rate. The therapeutic laser therapy is recommended by local physicians because it has no reported negative side effects and there is no need to use gum, patches, shots or pills. Stop smoking drug options will go a long way in helping you quit in a way that will not leave you destroyed. This information will help you know how to go about the different options available.

3. Nicotine Gum

This is 2g and 4g doses typically. If you currently smoke less than 25 cigarettes per day, starting with the 2g dose every hour or two is effective. Nicotine, a chemical in cigarettes, is addictive as cocaine and heroin, according to WomensHealth.gov. It is one of the reasons quitting cigarettes is so difficult. You were not born smoking, and you can go back to being a non-smoker. Nicotine patches and gum can improve your odds of being successful. However, if you need more help, or want to avoid nicotine altogether, proven natural ways can help.Quitting smoking offers a number of health benefits, both immediately and longterm.

When people first quit weed they often find it difficult to get some sleep. In fact, sometimes people simply can't sleep at all without marijuana in their life.

Here I am going to list exactly why this is so, and some of the most successful methods that people use to overcome this problem.

Why is it difficult to get some sleep after you stop smoking weed?

The main reason people experience difficulty sleeping after they cease abusing marijuana on a regular basis is the fact that marijuana has actually been responsible for putting their minds into a state of sleep for a long time.

Believe it or not, this actually means that you haven't achieved sleep naturally, for as long as you have been smoking marijuana during the night or within a few hours before sleeping.

The process of sleeping involves a clearing of the mind, and unfortunately, this is near impossible to achieve for someone who has recently kicked the habit of smoking marijuana.

Without marijuana, your mind tends to race and sometimes it can be difficult to simply stop thinking, about anything and everything that is going on in your life right now. And for the same reason, when you do achieve a good nights rest, you will experience extremely vivid dreams.

What are some methods to get some sleep without marijuana?

Although it can be difficult to actually sleep without weed in your life, you should try not to worry and stress too much about it. Many people often worry during the night as they need sleep right away, usually so they can work well the next day or simply be wide awake and less drowsy.

One thing that will help you to relax is to know that simply lying down with the lights off will help you to recover for the next day, whether your mind is switched on or off at the time. So make sure to simply relax, and know you are still achieving a good night's rest at least, even if it doesn't seem like it. Relaxing about this issue will improve your chances of achieving sleep, as worrying keeps you awake.

Some other tips that you can use that have helped many people in the past include drinking milk, getting a slight breeze going, or the good old-fashioned counting sheep. If counting sheep seems lame to you (it does to me), try to do something productive like planning out the following day.

The number one tip that most people find which works well for improving sleeping patterns, is to wake up early the next day, regardless of how much sleep you achieved - or haven't! Waking up early will no doubt ensure you are tired enough the next day and your overall sleeping problems are only one day away from being fixed for good.

Having trouble sleeping without marijuana is just one of the problems you might face when you first quit weed. Regardless of the trouble you go through, keep in mind that all of these problems will not last long and your life will be better off without marijuana in the long run, I can guarantee you that much!

Many smokers have questioned themselves, 'why stop smoking'? It would certainly need a much longer article than this to resolve that question fully. However, you will find enough reasons, hopefully here to make the average smoker stop and re-think their particular smoking habit.

Many years ago cigarette companies could actually pretty much 'get away with murder'. Those days have long gone. When actor doctors could pose, detailed with stethoscopes, affirming the great merits about their particular make of cigarette. Actually, my own dad used to say that 'smoking cleared his chest'. My Father died of double pneumonia at age 64, his own ailment greatly exacerbated by frequent lung smoking.

We know a great deal now about the risks posed by breathing in tobacco smoke, together with the nowadays commonly available information and health problems as a result of smoking. The question should not be 'why stop smoking'? Instead 'when do i stop'? The answer to that dilemma ought to be - "Now!"

Let's look closer at the damaging materials in, not merely the tobacco, but the slowly burning paper used in the making of cigarettes. You will find approximately 400 generally noxious chemicals, which includes arsenic, cyanide and carbon monoxide. We discover that there are also about 4,000 chemical compounds in smoke and from these there are around 40 carcinogens (cancer initiating compounds).

These numbers are quite scary. Yet if they're not reason enough to resolve the question "Why stop smoking?" then you will discover the various health problems proven to be specifically associated with cigarette smoking. Let us examine them.

Cancer

Beginning with probably the most prevalent concern relating to this habit, cancer would certainly rank at the pinnacle. The tars within smoking cigarettes have been proven to be cancer causing and ninety percent of lung cancer is because of smoking. 20 % who smoke over 15 cigarettes a day will die of lung cancer. 10 % of people who smoke between three and fifteen cigarettes daily will die of lung cancer. Check this with the fact that only one half of one percent of non smokers dies of lung cancer.

Cardiovascular Disease

Smoking cigarettes increases the hardening of the blood vessels. This results in constricting in the blood vessels which may bring about the development of blood clots. The clots can cause coronary thrombosis should they move to the blood vessels leading to the heart itself. Should they end up in the brain they could trigger 'Strokes'.

The impediment of blood circulation regularly leads to high blood pressure and at its worst can cause gangrene in the bodies' extremities.

Chronic Pulmonary Problems

One more type of condition frequently directly attributable to smoking is emphysema and chronic bronchial problems (bronchitis). Scientists have identified evidence of emphysema in close to 95% of smokers as in contrast to 10% of non smokers.

Many smokers stay in a bubble of unlikely optimism. That is irrespective of the free accessibility to the above mentioned statistics. The overriding thinking here seems to be 'it will not happen to me'. Regardless of the horrible catalogue of illnesses and death due to cigarette smoking, by some means, they will consider they're exempt. Others seek to have their cake and eat it and rather than asking the question - 'why stop smoking?' These people instead ask the question - 'why stop smoking completely?'

This second group have adopted the exact same thinking as an alcoholic that is convinced that he will be in a position to control his alcohol consumption and keep to a glass of wine with a supper and nothing more. Or the drug addict, that believes he can handle his habit to suit their needs. This will never occur and smokers who believe this may well at first cut down to a 'reasonable limit', yet will quickly be return to their traditional usage.

As a psychotherapist, I am able to help people smoking with great result. I make use of hypnosis. However, I do not treat all people. It all is dependent on their answers to some questions. The first question I ask ahead of any other is - 'are you genuinely serious about giving up smoking'? I refuse to treat any person in the event they dither and attempt to rationalise their addiction in order to keep on at a 'reduced rate'. It is just the person that, for what ever personal reason, genuinely wishes to quit, that will benefit from hypnosis to stop smoking. If somebody else wishes you to quit that's almost never adequate reason. YOU really need to want to stop, yourself.

The good news is that the human body comes with a boundless capability for recovery and repairing itself. This regenerating process kicks in right away. Yet again, this is good news for the smoker who gives up. Many of my successfully hypnotised clients report there's a rise to their breathing capacity within a week of quitting. In addition, after fifteen years of abstinence the long term cigarette smoker will have the same probability of survival as that of a non smoker. Nonetheless, inside the first year of stopping you will find excellent improvements to appear.

These are the brutal facts regarding tobacco smoking. I have attempted to be completely straight with you in his article. Nevertheless the only person who can decide if they should quit or continue is the person themself.
