You've heard of laser vision treatment; you've heard of laser unwanted hair removal treatment; you've even heard of laser hair re-growth treatment. But have you heard of laser stop smoking treatment?

Maybe not. But if you've heard of acupuncture being used to help people quit smoking, you will have an idea of what a treatment is. Acupuncture is an ancient medicinal art and has been used to assist those trying to kick their nicotine addictions for nearly thirty years; laser smoking medication first appeared in 1989.

Acupuncturists pinpoint the lower earlobe as the pressure point which curbs the craving to smoke, and low level, or "cool", this treatment also targets the lower ear lobe with a laser pulse. The theory behind both treatments is that they stimulate the release of endorphins, the body's natural pain killers, leaving the patient in a state of deeply relaxed well-being.

Advantages Of The Laser Stop Smoking Treatment

One advantage of this medication is that, for those who are needle-shy, sharp instruments are nowhere to be seen. It rarely has side effects, although a few users have reported warmth or tingling in their earlobes.
Because the power of the laser treatment is the equivalent of that generated by a 60-watt light bulb, there is no chance of the patient's being burned.

For those who are uncomfortable with the disrobing involved in acupuncture smoking cessation therapy, low level treatment offers a comfortable alternative. The laser, however, must be used by a trained technician.

Some providers of the it claim that it not only stimulates the body to release craving-eliminating endorphins; it also enhances the body's detoxification, hastening the removal of nicotine from the blood and tissues, and speeding the withdrawal process.

Precautions About The Treatment

Because the laser stop smoking is not a recognized medical treatment, health insurance will not cover its cost. And the laser medication isn't cheap; the best-known of the companies offering it charge $349 for a smoking cessation "program" including a half-hour treatment, some vitamins, and a stop-smoking video.

While the centers providing laser stop smoking have claimed a success rate in excess of 85%, those figures are under scrutiny by the Public Citizen's Health Research Group. They have petitioned the FDA to stop the companies from promoting their lasers as tools for smoking cessation medication, because they have not been given FDA approval for such a use.

In other words, the effectiveness of the laser stop smoking treatment has not been officially established, so there is no guarantee it will work for you. But if you don't mind spending the money, and have tried everything else to quit, you can always take the chance that you will be one of the lucky ones for whom it really works.

One of the reasons that smokers are still smokers is largely because of the known benefits of quitting smoking seem to be far away and do not have immediate effects on our body and life. However, that was true before you know the following facts that you are going to find in this article.

One of the most amazing facts that I have found in the year of 2009 is that our blood pressure will return to normal in as short as 20 minutes after we stop smoking. You might be or be not as amazed as I was when I came across this figure which subverted my belief.

I had thought that the vague risks of smoking, such as lung cancer and heart attack, will not come to me in the near future, and I do not need to worry about them at all. I believe that you must have the same thought.

However, I started to take my body seriously when I know the figure above. My behavior at this moment will lead to some results in 20 minutes. I would be an idiot if I do not take action now.

Another benefit of quitting smoking that will happen to you after your stop smoking right now is that you will be dollars richer than otherwise. You can spend the money saved on something more constructive. As I recall, I bought a cake for my girlfriend the very day when I started my life without cigarettes. This way, I improved the quality of my life.

If you are still a current smoker, remember the two numbers - 20 minutes and 48 hours. They could be the triggers that will get your started on a new life.

Yes, smoking is very worth it.

After the last cigarette, smoke, start your body for 20 minutes, that a number of positive changes that will continue for years.

-Blood pressure starts to sink.

-Drop your pulse rate (my resting pulse has dropped from 62 to 84 since no longer).

-Blood flow begins to improve. This fact is one of the greatest advantages of quitting smoking. Smoking restricted (f minor) blood vessels and capillaries, what, your heart working harder means blood and oxygen to the body places, where we must go, must. If the veins and capillaries start smoking to relax and open up, which reduces the workload for the heart, which is why you are experiencing a low pulse rate, lowered risk of heart attack, low blood pressure and higher energy level.

The benefits of smoking stop and go.

8 hours after the last cigarette:

-The carbon monoxide level in your blood drops to normal (the bad stuff goes away).

-The oxygen level in blood increases to normal (good things).

24 hours after the last cigarette:

-The possibility, with a heart attack begins to decline (it was said this is a big plus).

48 hours after the last cigarette:

-Their damaged nerve endings begin to grow – the ability to smell and taste begins to improve

The first and most quit smoking use, I personally experienced that my cigarette cough, that was awful before he quit, he was almost completely disappeared after three weeks. Three weeks! Amazing!

The worst nicotine withdrawal symptoms disappeared after the first month.

2 Weeks to 3 months after the

-Lung function starts to improve. Improved-Service-walking becomes easier

1-9 months after the release-reduce coughing and shortness of breath.

1 Year to stop-the extra risk of coronary heart disease is half that of a smoker.

5 years of stop-is reduced the risk of stroke, a non-smoker 5-15 years later.

10 Years after the release-your death rate of lung cancer is a smoker over half. -The risk of cancer in the mouth, throat, esophagus, bladder, kidney and pancreas decreases.

15 years of stop-the risk of coronary heart disease is back for a non-smoker.

I hope that you found the post here.

In addition to physical health improvements, confidence will increase as it accumulates more time without smoking. Breaking nicotine addiction is very empowering.

Depending on which cost cigarettes in your neck of the woods you save close to $2000,00 per year. I'm sure you think that something to do with the money.

There are a number of ways that smokers have used to become non smokers. They all work with varying levels of success. Some require drugs, some require indifference to pain, and some require learning some new techniques for changing your mental attitudes. Each method will have it's critics and supporters. Each method has a list of successes and failures. So choosing which method will work right for you can just be a trial and error process.

If you are the type of person that believes in some kind of magic bullet medication that will cure any physical problems you have, then trying a drug based approach to quitting smoking might be something for you to try first. See your doctor and ask for the currently fashionable drug that they recommend for stopping smoking. In the past they have used Chantix, Wellbutrin, and Zyban to help smokers quit.

There have been problems associated with these drugs. They have side effects that you should take into consideration as to how they can affect your lifestyle. One of those drugs has been associated with car wrecks as patients have fallen asleep behind the wheel as a result of the drug. Another drug has suicidal thoughts as a side affect and another causes weight gain. So be aware that there could be some serious downsides to using some of these drugs to stop smoking. Other side affects are:

* nausea (about 1/3)
* flatulence (smelly gas)
* constipation
* abnormal dreams
* difficulty sleeping
* headache
* anxiety
* insomnia
* dry mouth
* irritability
* seizures (happen rarely)

Another stop smoking aid is called nicotine replacement or NRT. The theory behind this process is to keep your body hooked on nicotine and gradually lesson your dosage. The most common forms of this stop smoking aid is the patch, the gum, and nasal spray. And of course there are side affects with using this form of quitting as well. They include,

* sleep difficulties (patches)
* abnormal dreaming (patches)
* skin reactions (patch)
* jaw pain (gum)
* nose irritation (nose spray)

And a third stop smoking aid is hypnosis to quit smoking. Using hypnosis to quit smoking is about learning how to use your mind properly to get results. You can achieve hypnosis in a number of different ways. Some people quit smoking by learning how to use self hypnosis. Others train themselves to be non smokers by listening to hypnosis CDs. And there are those who use the help of a stop smoking hypnotist. I listed these hypnosis alternatives from least costly to most costly. But the truth is that smoking is extremely expensive. And when you quit, no matter how much you spend, it doesn't cost you anything. Because whatever money you spend on quitting smoking, you'd probably spend far more by continuing to smoke.

There are no side affects to using hypnosis to quit smoking. Only side benefits. And these side benefits include:

* best sleep of your life
* improved self esteem
* improved self confidence
* sense of more control
* able to use these techniques for other problems
* able to leap tall buildings with a single bound (no, just kidding)

So the choice is up to you. It's important to know that whichever stop smoking aid you choose, if you're successful, great! If not, try another. It is a trial and error process and you continue to learn how to do it better. Think about becoming a non smoker as practicing for anything that's worthwhile and requires some developing skills. The most valuable lesson I'd like you to take away from this article is that you can succeed as long as you continue along in your quest to be a non smoker.

If you are finally ready to stop smoking you may be wondering which method will be the best for you. Should you just stop cold turkey? Maybe. Some people have reported getting sick with the flu for a few weeks and just loosing the desire to smoke after this time. This is probably not the most highly recommended stop smoking aid; it is just a coincidental thing that happened. Maybe you want to gradually stop smoking. Many people just slowly reduce the number of cigarettes they smoke everyday until they have quit. This is a good method to use if you have the ability to stick with it.

Other people feel they need a more direct stop smoking aid like the nicotine patch. This is a patch that is attached to the skin that gradually releases a certain level of nicotine into the person's bloodstream through the skin. Over a period of time the new patches that they wear have a lower and lower level of nicotine so that eventually they have stopped needing nicotine at all. They have hopefully done this without the many withdrawal symptoms that come with stopping smoking.

Another stop smoking aid is to get the nicotine gum. You can chew gum to your hearts desire and still get a portion of the nicotine into your body. The chewing helps with the urge to put a cigarette in your mouth, and the release of nicotine from the gum gives you a small amount of nicotine in your system. Sometimes this stop smoking aid is used with counselling as well. Over time you should be able to chew less and less gum and completely end your body's addiction to nicotine.

There are other quit smoking aids to also consider. Acupuncture or the futuristic method of laser therapy is one method that has been shown to help some people. With this method, energy points in the body are stimulated so that they start producing feel good chemicals within at least a day or two of treatment and which help with the discomfort of nicotine withdrawal. Other people get help to kick there smoking habit with the aid of hypnosis. Hypnotherapy sessions can either be conducted one on one by a qualified hypnotist or a hypnotherapy audio program designed for smokers can easily be purchased or downloaded and listened to when ever you want in the comfort of your own home.

These methods have had great success with many people also. Whichever method you choice to quit smoking, you can rest assured that you are not alone in your quest for success.a

Nicotine stimulates the pleasure centers in the brain causing both pleasure and stimulation. Also, depending on the amount of nicotine inhaled, smoking may also cause relaxation, and the relief of stress. The Psychological addition occurs when you identify smoking with certain aspects of your life, such as smoking for relaxation while driving, after a meal and while talking on the telephone. 4. Instant smoking cessation programs-not recommended due to lack of education and support given in the programs.

5. Quitting cold turkey-this may work for some, but a sudden cessation of a lifelong habit can cause irritability and moodiness and in a few days cravings and relapse.
