You don't smoke at regular intervals throughout the day, you smoke when you feel stressed or you get a break from work. It's a mental addiction based on triggers that happen around you.
If you identify what causes you to start smoking, you'll be able to predict when you will get cravings, which will make it a lot easier to stop them in their tracks. It'll also make it easier to, if you do feel cravings, get away from things that motivate you to smoke.
