If you have been on the edge about using hypnosis to quit smoking, I want to forewarn you on the 2 reasons why most people fail to quit smoking when using this method or any other stop-smoking method available.

The first reason that people fail to quit smoking is...
They believe that it's going to be hard and difficult to quit! With this belief and mindset they are already defeating themselves before they even start. Think about those gigantic task we have in our lives. The things we think will take the most mental energy to face. Sometimes it's the thought of facing it that robs us of more mental energy than actually facing the task.

So before throwing in the towel with the whole "It will just be too hard to quit speech" think about how much stress that your so-called stress-reliever pack of cigarettes are causing you in the first place.

The second reason why so many people fail to quit smoking is because...
They do not have a good enough reason to quit smoking. We all know that smoking is extremely bad to one's health and can ultimately lead to lung cancer. But what about the benefits of not smoking. The liberty and freedom that comes with it.

Take some time and make a list of all the benefits you think you will have in your life if you quit smoking. Think about the increase health. The years you have just added to your life, the confidence and glow that you would have, the increased confidence and self esteem. Finally being able to get sound sleep at night.

Take that list and place it where you will see it every morning and every night. In the bathroom mirror, on the refrigerator, a sticky note on those pack of cigarettes if you really want some cool points.

When many of the people in the world think about lighting up a cigarette, the benefits of quitting never even crosses their minds. However, say for instance we cigarette smokers take some time, and think about the benefits of quitting smoking.

For many people it is almost impossible to kick the habit of smoking, but for others it is simple. For they have chosen to live better lives, while at the same time enjoy the life that they have now that they have quit smoking. In addition, they are not at risk of a heart attach or lung cancer. It is said that cigarettes are one of the leading causes of death in the United States, as well as other countries. While cigarettes can be very addicting, the benefits of quitting can be a real joy. Quitting smoking takes strength, for instance to tell yourself that if you continue to smoke you could end up with lung cancer. Quitting smoking also takes courage; say for instance, when someone asked you if you want a cigarette. One must have the courage to say no thank you I'm trying to quit.

For many smokers, they do not want to be the only ones putting their lives at risk of lung cancer or heart attach. Therefore, they will try to persuade you that you will feel better after you smoke a cigarette with them. Really, smoking is a mind set; you see your mind is telling you that if you smoke, all will be fine. What your mind is not telling you is that hey you are killing your self here. It takes a great amount of will power to quit smoking. When the urge comes up, simply find something else to do besides smoking. When you feel like smoking take a run or walk around the block. However when one habit is kicked another one will be picked up. So why not make it a good habit, why not make your body healthier by exercising instead of smoking. Quitting smoking can be accomplished, but it will take a strong willed person to make the habit go away for good. Quitting will make you feel ten times better about yourself then you ever have before.

Therefore, what are you waiting for, if you wanting to quit smoking for good. There are many different websites all over the Internet, which will educate you in the secret of quitting smoking. All you have to do is have the will to make it happen. Remember the old saying in school, where there is will there is an A+. Maybe you have thought about quitting smoking before, but just did not know how to go about doing it well my friend it is always better to take the challenge of quitting smoking with a good buddy of yours or maybe even your wife, that is if she is willing. On the other hand, maybe the other way around, but either way the both of you will be more active then you have ever been before and not have to worry about doctor visits or any kind of lung cancer.

Depending on how long you have been smoking and the quantity of cigarettes you smoke each day, quitting smoking can be incredibly difficult. For people that have been smoking for a while, there are psychological and physical factors that will influence your thinking. People use all sorts of aids and techniques to combat these factors however knowing why you want to quit and keeping it at the forefront of your thinking can often be just as effective. Knowing the health benefits when you quit smoking can help to motivate you and keep you focused on why you made the decision to quit in the first place.

For instance, if you are doing some exercise in conjunction with your decision to quit smoking, note how much quicker you can walk round the block after a few weeks of quitting. By having measurable results you will reinforce the good decision you made to quit smoking. The same could be said about the condition of your skin, teeth or hands. If you can say or notice that there is a definite improvement then you are more likely to continue with the process and be more committed.

So what kind of immediate benefits can you expect?

Immediate signs will be skin deep. So you may notice less wrinkles on the face. If your hands were marked or stained by cigarette smoke, this will also disappear after a week or so. There will be less interference with your sinuses so you may find that your sense of smell and taste is improved.

Outwardly this may give you the appearance of looking younger and having more energy. You may want to partake in more exercise and have more capacity for it.

Over time, if you continue to refrain from smoking, the chances of lung and other forms of cancer will be diminished. You will also lower your chances of developing lung and throat diseases such as emphysema.

Another immediate health benefit when you quit smoking may be your family's or partner's health. It is thought that passive smoking can be just as devastating to non-smokers. They can suffer from many of the diseases and illnesses that smokers may develop if they are constantly exposed to passive smoke. So the immediate health benefits could include your children and partner.

So why should we quit smoking and go through weeks of cravings? To protect our health and boost our lung power right? It seems like an obvious question with a straightforward answer but it is a very good idea to write down all the benefits of becoming a non smoker before you start stopping, and have your list close to hand for those trying times, because there will be trying times, wo mamma!

Money to burn: using cigarettes is a very costly habit. Of course it doesn't seem so bad when it is an individual purchase, a few pounds or dollars, but if you had all the money you spent in a year on smoking in your hands at one time, say for example between two and three thousand pounds, I very much doubt anyone would wish to hand over that money to a faceless company and in return all you get back is a rasping cough and lungs like wet toilet paper. Think about that for moment or three... It's utter lunacy!

The zombie factor: we all know that smoking is bad for our bodies and by extension our minds to because after a while we begin to worry about our health to. I'm not going to go over all the different smoking related illnesses that eventually turn you into a walking corpse, I'm sure you have heard them all before but let's be honest, no one (almost no one) wants to die, especially not in their early forties because of a habit they don't even like anymore! Saving your health is the best reason I can think of to stop smoking.

Get out! In most major cities now smokers almost need their own personal bat cave to retreat to before they spark up. I don't believe that anyone should be persuaded into a blizzard with a pitchfork pressed against their spine just because they smoke, but non smokers are becoming less and less tolerant of people smoking. And they are right, no one should have to suffer because of another persons bad habit.

The stink: I don't believe anyone likes the smell of smoke and stale smoke is worse, it isn't going to win you any medals on the dating circuit. Of course after you have been smoking for a year or two you don't notice it that much anymore, but you can still hear the murmurs of "here comes stinky" as you approach the water cooler... For shame!

So there are four good reasons to quit, money, health, alienated and the smell. It's definitely worth writing them down to look over when your cravings get really bad. It won't make the craving go away but it will remind you why you are doing it and help you beat the habit.

Below you will find 10 of the hundreds of reasons one should stop smoking. Read through them all, and see how your life as a smoker would be different if you would quit smoking and start living a healthier life.

1. Bad Odor

Smoking carries with it a very unique odor, that will follow you everywhere. It saturates your clothes, hair, car, home and your breath. You reek of it all day long. No amount of mints or gum are going to get rid of that bad breath, let alone the amount of air freshener it takes to get your house and car back to smelling normal.

2. Lots more Wrinkles

You can always pick a smoker out of a crowd. Aside from the odor that is following them, they have more than 10 times the amount of wrinkles as a non-smoker. Not to mention the greyish pale skin, and yellow teeth and fingers.

3. Your Lungs fill with Toxic Substances

Okay maybe not quite toxic, but they do fill with phlegm, mucus and tar. As your lungs fill with these substances it reduces the amount of oxygen and nutrients between the tissues and bloodstream. Smokers also have a lot harder time breathing. Stop smoking and within 12 hours your lungs begin the healing process.

4. Are you Depressed?

Smokers are twice as likely to become depressed than non-smokers. So if you find yourself down in the dumps or always looking at the world negatively it could be from your daily nicotine intake.

5. Pricey

Have you ever stopped and figured up how much money you spend a week or a month on cigarettes. You might as well roll up six dollar bills, light em and let em burn everyday. Thats almost $2,000 every year, even more if you are paying seven to nine dollars for every pack of cigarettes. What if you smoked your entire life from age 18 til you die at age 65? Figure that up, at six dollars a pack, and one pack a day that is over $85,000, you just burnt a car or a house in some markets.

6. Want to have children?

When you smoke you lower the ability have children. If you a woman it makes it more and more difficult to become pregnant, and if you are a man it makes you infertile, and harder to get a woman pregnant. Not to mention the possibility of having erectile dysfunctions.

7. Problem Pregnancy

If you are pregnant, be prepared to have some difficulties with your pregnancy. Women who smoke during pregnancy are more likely to experience complicated pregnancies, where the fertilized egg begins to develop in the slender fallopian tube instead of the uterus. Because of your smoking, your baby may have a lower birth weight and birth defects too. You are also more likely to deliver prematurely or miscarry.

8. Bad Role Model

If you have children then you'll know what I mean. Children like to imitate their parents. So if mommy or daddy smoke, that makes it cool or ok to do. So be a good role model and stop smoking, if not for you, then for your children or the children you are around.

9. Second Hand Smoke

Not only is it a bad influence to smoke around others, but it kills them too. By the time you child is 5 years old they will have inhaled the equivalence of 102 packs of cigarettes. Children and adults who are exposed to second-hand smoke are at a higher risk of developing lung cancer and other respiratory problems, including shortness of breath, coughing and more phlegm.

10. Smokers Die Young

Smokers die a lot younger than non-smokers, studies have shown that one cigarette will take 7 minutes off your life. Not to mention the higher risk of heart attacks, respiratory problems, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and lung disease.

So I hope that after reading just some of the side effects smoking has on you and the ones you love you are ready to quit. If you are, there are plenty of resources out there for you.

It is a well-known fact that tobacco use is bad for our overall health, but we keep on smoking cigarettes and try to justify our reasons for doing so. Also, we have been bombarded with all sorts of prohibitions in order to rid ourselves of the vice, such as a greater number of public places where tobacco use is not sanctioned, the escalating cost of cigarette sticks and lots of brand-new methods to quit using tobacco. But most individuals continue to fail and backslide! In some cases, it's merely a matter of getting the right reasons to begin a new way of life. This article presents several great incentives to quit using tobacco once and for all, plus the elements that make cigarette smokers flunk in their mission to triumph over the habit.

There are lots of benefits to being nicotine-free, and these advantages could be organized into four categories: monetary, mental, health as well as personal / social. The financial advantages of stopping smoking are fairly evident, especially in the current economic environment. A regular nicotine junkie wastes thousands of dollars every year on cigarettes in spite of the soaring cost of cigarette cartons. Aside from the existing market price, some states have appended as much as $2 to the price of tobacco, making a single pack cost about $9 or $10 each.

For nonsmokers, this would be enough reason to give up using tobacco, but many continue to smoke in spite of the monetary burden. Think about the amount of money you can save annually by quitting! You may get started on a mutual fund, save up for a long vacation or pay off your mortgage, among other possibilities.

Even though it is not really considered by plenty of men and women as a legitimate reason to kick the damaging vice, it is a widely known fact that your internal well-being is substantially and negatively affected by tobacco use. If you keep on smoking, your focus is going to stay on having your next cigarette stick instead of what is transpiring around you. Smoking prohibitions that are followed by office buildings, restaurants and other public places may trigger tension and annoyance, which will consequently influence your relationships with other folks and your overall behavior. When you quit smoking, you wouldn't be under the physiological and psychological control of nicotine, and you could focus on the more important things in your daily life.

Like the financial rewards of being tobacco-free, the health advantages are fairly evident. If you give up smoking, you substantially lower your risk of suffering from cardiovascular disease and lung cancer, along with other smoking-related conditions. Your heart doesn't need to work that hard to pump your blood through your veins, which smoking will constrict. Also, your blood pressure level would go down and you will have a lot more strength and endurance for physiologically demanding activities.

Scores of scientific studies show that as fast as 20 minutes after you quit using tobacco, your pulse rate and blood pressure level would drop; in twelve hours, the carbon monoxide level in your body would begin to go down. Your lungs will also begin to patch themselves up, and they're going to start to function normally 60 to 90 days after your last cigarette.

When it comes to the personal / social group, the benefits are more subtle. First of all, your hair, breath and clothing wouldn't smell horrible and would be a lot less offensive to people who don't smoke cigarettes. Most tobacco smokers generally do not realise just how bad they smell until they stop smoking. Apart from that, your home as well as car wouldn't reek of tobacco. Plenty of ex-smokers have also washed their draperies and walls, cleaned their furniture and rewashed their clothes after they've stopped using tobacco. The top social and personal advantage of quitting cigarette smoking is that you present your relatives and good friends with a healthier environment to stay in and minimise their odds of breathing in secondhand smoke!

Lots of women and men are going to feel that all these reasons will successfully entice nicotine users to quit. Sadly, it is not as easy as it appears. Nicotine is incredibly addictive and makes quitting unthinkable for so many people despite all of the consequences. Luckily, these incentives can be augmented by support groups, stop smoking aids, and guidance from your loved ones. Bear in mind that tobacco use does not need to dominate your way of life and that your overall health and well-being is certainly more important than tobacco! Life is a great thing to have, and you should do all that you could in order to prolong your life expectancy!

You're on the verge of taking the plunge. Finally ready to lay aside those smokes. Without doubt, you have heard of the many deadly side effects of smoking. There are many and they are real.

Cigarettes Cause Health Concerns

The 1982 Surgeon General's report stated, "Cigarette smoking is the major single cause of Cancer mortality in the United States." Many studies show how cigarette smoking is a major cause of heart disease, which can lead to heart attacks. According to the American Heart Association, 30% of all coronary heart disease deaths in the United States each year are attributable to cigarette smoking. The toll on health is devastating!

Smoking is Expensive

Not only is smoking taking a toll on health, it hits the wallet hard. Smoking is very expensive these days. When I was smoking, I spent around $3,600 and some change a year. Wow! That's a lot of money. If you multiply that by 20 years, that's a really nice chunk of change!

But more than money, it takes off days to your life and adds to your health bills. Illnesses related to smoking cost the nation billions each year. The CDC says the smokers cost the country 96 billion dollars a year directly in healthcare cost.

Get Results in 20 Minutes

Good news though. If you quit right now you can start seeing results within 20 minutes!

ท In 20 minutes, your blood pressure returns to normal.

ท Another 48 hours from now, your chances of having a heart attack have lowered.

ท Your sense of taste and smell will have returned to normal, and nicotine will have left your body yay!

ท In 3 weeks, your circulation will have improved greatly and your chronic cough will have gone.

ท One year after you have quit, your risk of heart attack will have dropped by half

ท In 5 years, your risk of a having a stroke will have returned to that of a non-smoker.

These are just few of the great things that happen if you were to quit right now, there are many more. The best probably is that in 15 years, your risk of heart attack has returned to that of a non-smoker. Don't put it off any longer the time to quit is now!

Having several good reasons to quit smoking is one of the greatest keys to success. If your reasons are not solid, there is a greater chance that you will give up and start smoking again.

Of course, everyone's reasons for wanting to quit smoking are different, but here are a few of the most popular choices:

Your health. The number one reason to quit smoking is that it's unhealthy. Smoking increases your risk for lung cancer, as well as other diseases. Furthermore, smokers are more likely to get sick, or have a cold last longer. Quitting smoking will greatly improve your health.

Children. While many people do enjoy smoking, there are few people that want their children to grow up to smoke. Unfortunately, children often mimic the behavior of their parents and other caretakers, so if they are around smoking adults, they are more likely to start smoking. They're also more likely to start smoking at a younger age because they will have access to cigarettes in the house. If you have children, it's a good idea to quit smoking for their benefit.

To reach fitness goals. At some point, people find that smoking cigarettes affects their athletic performance if they are already active. Others find it hard to start an exercise program while they are still smoking. If you quit smoking, you'll be able to do better, whatever sport you choose to play.

The health of others. If you are frequently smoking around non-smokers, you may want to consider quitting in order to benefit their health. Second hand smoke is just as bad as smoking yourself, but these people are not choosing to smoke.

You just plain stink. You may not notice it, but others certainly do. If you smoke cigarettes, you will smell like cigarettes no matter what you try to mask the smell. This could negatively affect your job and personal life, especially if the other people around you are non-smokers.

While of course your own reasons to quit smoking must be deeply personal, hopefully this has given you some ideas to get started.

Benefits of not smoking can be both immediate and long-term. It is very well known that smoking is a health hazard- a fact that even cigarette manufacturers agree with and advertise on the cigarette packets. Immediate benefits of not smoking such as improved blood circulation, breathing capacity and body vigor are incentives enough to enable a smoker to quit his habit. However, the benefits do not stop at this, in fact, they continue long after creating an immediate impact.

Long- term benefits of not smoking mainly relate to the vital organ systems of our body namely, the circulatory and the respiratory systems. These benefits include reduced risks of heart attacks, lung diseases, pneumonia, ulcers and cancer. In terms of a timescale, the chances of a heart attack after 1 year of not smoking is half that in a continuing smoker. After 5 years, the risk of a stroke is the same as that for a non-smoker. A decade of smoking cessation cuts the risk of lung, mouth, throat, esophagus, pancreatic and cervical cancers by half. After almost 15 years, the risk for a heart attack drops to that of a non-smoker.

Reduced risks for problems with vision and yellowing teeth, enhanced mental ability and improved immunity are other long-term benefits of not smoking. Mouth, stomach and duodenal ulcers heal quickly in a former smoker than in a continuing smoker. Even pregnant women stand to benefit by not smoking- their infants will have a normal birth weight and they would have a better bone health if they stop smoking preferably before and also throughout pregnancy.

To put it succinctly, the long-term benefits of not smoking are a healthier and disease free life and a reduced chance of premature death that translates to a lengthened life-span. Studies show that the chances of death are reduced by more than 90% if one quits at the age of 30. By quitting at around 50 years, risk of death reduces by 50%. In fact, even if one quits smoking after 60 years, they would live longer than the aged who continue to smoke.

Long-term benefits of not smoking are appreciated only when the quitter becomes old and still continues to lead a healthy life. As is said- 'Sow today to reap a rich harvest tomorrow'. Hence, considering the numerous long-term benefits, a sincere effort to quit smoking at the earliest is the need of the hour.

Thus, long-term Benefits of not smoking contribute to a healthy and disease-free life along with a lengthened life-span.

When I consider the health benefits of quitting smoking I do not even know where to start. They are so many but I will try going through most of them in the paragraphs that follow. When you are a smoker you know you have been cutting down on your life expectancy. You started cutting down on it the minute you smoked your first cigarette.

So when you quit smoking you begin to reverse the process. You begin to add to your life expectancy. The effects of smoking on your health are gradual. They are not immediately noticeable. So don't expect to feel like a whole new person two days after quitting either. The process will take time but your body will eventually get back to its clean state.

When you smoke you put yourself at the risk of falling sick from disease that you would never have had to worry about as a non smoker. Many diseases can be traced back to the effects of smoking. Like lung cancer, and all these other respiratory illnesses. So some of the health benefits of quitting smoking is you never have to worry about these illnesses.

Smokers reduce their chances of recovery from other illnesses too. It takes them a longer time to recover than a person who doesn't smoke. It may not be health related but its worth mentioning. Smoking is an expensive habit. As it becomes more addictive you begin to spend more money on it. So that's another reason why should stop.

Other health benefits of quitting smoking are that you also reduce the effects of passive smoking. Because the people around you are as at much risk as you are. So the best thing you can do is quit. There are easy ways of how to quit and you don't have to worry about relapse.

Health Benefits

Tobacco companies might like to claim that smoking might contribute to cancer, but the reality is that it very much does, there is no "might" in the statement. In fact, cancer is just one of the many problems that cigarettes introduce to your body. Considering the sheer number of ingredients that go into making a cigarette, it is amazing that the human body is so resilient to most of them and actually takes time to show signs of damage. Hence, this alone should be a good enough reason to quit smoking and opt to lead a longer life.

Social Benefits

You might think it is cool to be smoking, considering that you have seen so many celebrities and stars smoking either on screen or even in real life. But, also note the number of other famous personalities who don't smoke and are just as happy. When you smoke, you eventually restrict the people that you hang out with as well. The money that you save is something that you ought to seriously consider. In fact, people who quit smoking can soon invest their money on something much more significant. When it comes to marijuana, most if not all regular smokers are actually very well aware of the damage they are inflicting upon themselves and would also readily admit to it. Somehow, due to the addiction of marijuana, they are willing to consciously lie to themselves about their smoking habits and how impossible it is to stop smoking. This is definitely not true. If you are from this category of people, do make it a point to read this article to the end and uncover the 3 health benefits that you have been missing out.

According to medical researches, it has long been an established fact that marijuana causes severely negative impact to your sleep routine. The quality of your sleep would be compensated by the presence of marijuana because the drug would interrupt the rapid-eye-movement cycle. Thus, you will not be able to sleep well enough for your body to have the necessary rests if you do smoke. Good thing is however, should you decide to quit marijuana; you will be able to get back to the normal condition within a relative short time.

Next, I guess it is a universal fact that smoking will cause lung cancer as well as other breathing-related diseases. With that in mind, wouldn't it be a superb idea to just quit using marijuana so that you can stay away from all those problems? Not only will your lung condition begin to improve dramatically, your stamina as well as energy will also return in no time. On the same note also, prolonged addiction with marijuana can only mean bronchial as well as respiratory illnesses down the road.

Last but not least, many people do not realize that smoking or taking marijuana has a negative impact on your sex life as well. People who take marijuana on a regular basis have often complained of low sex drive as well as abysmal sex performance. This is indeed not astonishing given the fact that marijuana contains substances that affect your sperms negatively and might cause infertility in serious conditions. Perhaps you should take some efforts to educate yourself more on the impact of it in this aspect and make use of it as an enhanced motivation to quit marijuana.

All in all, quitting marijuana requires courage as well as boldness in action. If you are determined to do it, rest assured that once marijuana is completely expelled from your body, things will be back to normal and you will not have to worry about all the negative impacts ever again.
