This is not the most affordable stop smoking drug on the market. There are other products on the market that smokers can buy to help them quit such as nicotine gum, herbal alternatives, Zyban, and others. So, how can the consumer justify the high price of Chantix when there are other products on the market to help them quit their addiction?

Since Chantix was released in 2006, thousands of smokers have been freed from their nicotine addiction and are now living free of cigarettes for the first time in years - for some people even decades. The effectiveness of this new cessation drug has been proven in clinical tests. In addition to these clinical tests, a simple search online produces pages and pages of positive reviews with the exception of a few smokers who experience side effects that keep them from continuing their dosage. So, the effectiveness of Chantix among most users is unquestioned.

Chantix works by blocking nicotine from being taken into the parts of the brain that release dopamine. This activity blocks the positive reinforcement each time a smoker inhales cigarette smoke. By blocking this reinforcement, smoking loses its drawing power and eventually the person's physical addiction to nicotine drastically diminishes. When the nicotine is not keeping the person tied to the cigarettes, the smoker is free to deal with breaking the habit of lighting up.

When we compare the cost of smoking to the price of Chantix, over time quitting is obviously much cheaper. With health costs increasing along with heavy taxes being levied on tobacco products, smoking is becoming more and more expensive. The price of a pack of cigarettes averages $4.50. According to this average, a single pack per day costs about $31.50 per week. That's an annual cost of about $1642. To put this into perspective, if someone who is 40 puts what he would normally spend on cigarettes into a 401k earning an annual rate of 9.0% per year, he would have nearly $250,000 by age 70.

It is for those who want an easier cessation experience and those who have been addicted to cigarettes for many years, but have failed to quit numerous times. With the cost of tobacco product taxes increasing each year among the states, the move to break free of cigarettes has never been more popular. If you are looking for the best chance of success, you can be sure Chantix is worth its relatively high price as it is unmatched among all the cessation programs available on the market today.
