You have tried to quit smoking. From trying the natural ways up to the phase wherein you are already using Nicotine Replacement Therapy and medications and still you cannot fight the urge to smoke. Then you tried using herbs but to no avail. Do not loose hope. There is what they call hypnosis to stop smoking.

Hypnosis is allowing the person to relax at the same time focusing on a certain problem. During the therapy, the body and mind relaxes putting you in your subconscious state. When you are in your subconscious state, your mind cannot tell the difference between reality and imagination and when you are hypnotized, the subconscious can be an imagined reality. So when you are hypnotized, you are imagining yourself to be a non-smoker and the subconscious recognizes that as a reality.

Anyone can be hypnotized. In the early days, they thought of hypnotism as something magical using a pendulum or a swaying watch and they will take control of all your actions. Hypnotism is a natural state of the brain. It is relaxing the mind and body while doing something and the last thing you know, you are done with what you are doing without remembering that you were actually doing something. This is entering the subconscious state of the mind.

During these days, you have so many things to choose from just to stop that smoking habit. However, many claims to have been helped by hypnotism that ended their smoking days. Others say that combining it with other stop smoking programs can achieve better results.

There are two types of hypnosis used to stop smoking. The first one is the use of self-hypnosis. This type of hypnosis uses self-relaxation techniques and self-guidance with the images to make quitting effective. It may take time to master the technique. The second one is through hypnotherapy by a certified hypnotherapist. The certified hypnotherapist is trained to help you relax and guide you through images and words to help you quit smoking. Hypnotherapy can be a single to multiple session program.
