One of the reasons why smokers reject the idea of quitting is their fear of withdrawal effects. Just like every other addiction, there will be a temporary period of adjustment but that's just what it is: a period.

Liberate yourself from this dangerous habit by learning how to quit smoking naturally. Not only do you save money, but the risks of acquiring diseases such as lung cancer and heart attack are also minimized.

Here are several ways that have worked with ex-smokers that you can try or inspire you to develop your own way of quitting smoking forever.

Start off by conditioning your body. Exercise, avoid too much fatigue, and eat healthy foods. Avoid the situations that usually make you crave for smoke afterwards.

Most smokers feel an urge to smoke usually after their meals. One way to lessen that urge is to drink coffee or beverages that contain caffeine. Another option is to use stop smoking aids such as nicotine gum instead.

Then plan how you want to quit smoking either through stopping entirely or just gradually decreasing the number of smoke you consume everyday. Say you consume ten sticks of cigarette everyday, you can decrease it one by one every two days and smoke only half of the stick.

Break the pattern that you previously had and make it uncomfortable for you to smoke. You can place the cigar packs in a hard to reach location, smoke at awkward hours of the day and puff at a different place.

Get rid of your favorite brand and choose one that you don't like. You can also reach out for a nicotine gum instead.

The most important part of any method you choose is to have a proper mindset - do not think that stopping from this habit is impossible. This is perhaps the most difficult to observe but remember that once you have it envisioned, the rest is a piece of cake.

For smoking and drug addictions:

Physical dependence on drugs is normally only 20% of your problem - the other 80% is psychologically of nature and you need to commit yourself to be successful in your effort.

For eating addictions:

The addiction to eat has similarities to that of drug addictions. You cannot pass a certain type of food without taking a bite! That eating make you feel good and that is why you keep on nibbling.

For stress relief:

Stress is a big problem for a large percentage of the globe's population. Many of us are using chemicals to cope with stress.

To quit smoking, drug abuse or any addiction is the best thing you can do to improve your health and lifestyle with immediate benefits

ARE YOU READY?

Those who are ready to quit:

•Committed to stop smoking or drug abuse.

•Does not enjoy smoking/drugs anymore

•Feel the ill health effects caused by smoking/drug abuse

•Want to be free from nicotine/drug addiction

•Tried several times without success, but ready to try again

•Told by your doctor to stop and taking it seriously.

Those who are not ready to quit:

•Still enjoy smoking/drugs - Remember, once you start to feel the negative effects of the nicotine/drugs on your body it may already be too late

•Under 30 years of age - you still have a very active social life and think that smoking/drugs cannot harm you - just to have some regrets at a later stage in life

•Emotionally affected and under huge stress - learn to cope with the emotions and stress and then give up smoking/drugs - as ex-addicts we have sympathy with you and we support you all the way in your effort to quit.

HOW?

This method provides relief for all types of addictions. We use the smoke cessation program to demonstrate to you how to use this method of addiction relief. You apply the same principles for other forms of addiction relief.

To successfully quit smoking you need to understand how smoke addiction came to take charge of your body and mind. To quit you must address both the physical as well as the psychological issues of smoke cessation.

The physical issue has to do with the body chemistry that has been affected by the nicotine or addictive substance. The psychological issue has to do with the mind - that is what you think and what the mind tries to make you believe about your addiction.

How does nicotine affect the body chemistry? Way back, for some of us many decades ago when we started smoking, by inhaling the smoke the nicotine in cigarettes gets in our blood and interfere with the working of the

Hypothalamus gland. This gland is also known as the "addiction" gland. All addictions have something in common with this gland.

When you light up a cigarette and inhale the smoke, within seconds together with the oxygen the nicotine is transferred into your blood. Through circulation the nicotine reaches the hypothalamus gland and stimulates it - this stimulation causes the release of endorphins, which are also referred to as "happy hormones". For the duration of you smoking the cigarette, these happy hormones will be released and you will endure a feeling of well being, pleasure and crisp thinking.

The moment you put out the cigarette, the nicotine count in the blood diminishes, and the release of the "happy hormones" stops. Soon thereafter the hormone count also diminishes to such a level that the body starts to feel

"not so good", and you start to crave for another cigarette. Very quickly the mind realises that if the body feels not good, you light up a cigarette, and the "happy hormones" will make the body feel good again. That is exactly where the addiction kicks in - if you do not feel well, just light up a cigarette and you will feel better.

So between the mind and the body, the addiction comes from the fact that the mind keeps on instructing the body to pump nicotine into the blood so you can feel better. A very nasty and extremely dangerous situation. The craving for nicotine is so strong that you do not feel the deterioration of your health due to the thousands of chemicals that you are "injecting" yourself with. These chemicals cause all sorts of illnesses like asthma, diabetes, coughing, allergies, cancer, poor eating habits, emphysema, ulcers, tooth decay, skin problems, premature ageing and many more the list is too long.

And to think, all the way the addiction for nicotine is so strong that you do not (or rather want not to) realise that it is the smoking that causes all these illnesses almost without exception. Once you light up, there are over 4000 chemicals released, most of which you inhale with very dangerous consequences.

The power of the mind is controlling the body? To illustrate this let us look at some examples.

•When you get on an airplane to Europe or some other far off destination, you know that there is no smoking on the aircraft and you do not have a problem with that? True? Yes, it is the mind that tells the body that it is not going to get nicotine and the body is quite happy with that ruling.

•Some religions require you not to smoke during fasting times, and yes, you cope with that easily.

•When you are hospitalised (heart attack or operation, cancer treatment, lung problems) for some or other reason, you do not smoke sometimes for several days - and you cope with that.

•When a woman falls pregnant she stops smoking immediately for 9 months - yes I had numerous female clients that told me about their smoke cessation during pregnancy.

To successfully stop smoking, you must address both the physical craving for nicotine as well as the psychological aspects of smoke cessation. With our method of smoke cessation, you will apply the therapy yourself which will reduce the craving for nicotine to such an extent that you can much easier overcome the psychological "addiction".

THE STIMULATION

You use the stimulator on the 29 points as indicated in the instruction manual. The points are often referred to as energy points, meridians as well as acupuncture points. The stimulator is safe to use, does not pierce the skin at all and does not need you to take any prescription drugs or chemical preparations. By stimulating the said points with our specially designed instrument you will find that the body does not crave the nicotine any more. The cigarettes will taste bad and you will feel good without the need of smoking. This positive feeling without the use of nicotine will now assist you in your psychological warfare against smoking habit.

Example of points to stimulate

Point 1 - in the middle of the triangle of soft flesh between the thumb and fore finger

Points 2 and 3 - on the meridian lines at the joint between the hand and the arm

You repeat the stimulation of the 29 points within 24 hours or as soon as the urge for smoking becomes unbearable. The body takes up to 72 hours to rid itself of nicotine. During this time you can repeat the stimulation every 12 hours if necessary. Thereafter you can repeat the stimulation as and when needed. Make sure that you carry the instrument with you when going on long trips.

If you are looking forward to stop smoking, then you have probably considered all the possible aids available for it. But the truth is the best way to stop smoking is to do it naturally. When you consider all the factors that are associated with smoking, you will realize that all the aids in the world (like nicotine patches, gums, inhalers etc.) are not effective unless you really want to quit. And if you do really want to quit, then you don't really need these aids. Besides, there have been many cases when a person who tries quitting cigarettes using these aids, ends up getting addicted to both these aids and the cigarettes.

I had a friend who used nicotine patches for almost three months in hopes that it will help him quit cigarettes. But after three months, he got so used to the nicotine patches that now he had to either smoke or have nicotine patch applied to get the results. So, unless you want to shell out your money on these expensive aids, I would suggest you use stop smoking naturally.

The cheapest way to kick this bad habit is to stop smoking naturally. And besides being cheap, this has been proven to be the most effective way. Statistics have shown that those who have used all natural ways to quit smoking are the most successful long term non smokers. The largest no. of ex smokers quit with the help of natural ways like therapies, hypnosis, meetings etc. and without the use of any aids.

To choose a natural way to stop smoking, refer to the list below.

1. Therapies (individual or group therapies) - These therapies work just like a session with your psychiatrist. They are going to help you with the problems and hurdles that you face when you try to quit. If you go for these it is best to choose a therapist that you can really talk to openly and work with him/her as a partner towards your goal.

2. Meetings - If you want there are a lot group meetings like smokers anonymous that help each other quit. They meet every once in a while to check each other's progress and support each other. You can find a group in your area. It is good to have someone to report to and be in company of people who are making the same endeavors as you are.

3. Hypnosis - A powerful therapy that includes a hypnotist using the power of hypnosis to change the sub conscious mind into thinking you are a non smoker. It is an extremely powerful technique which has helped millions. It may take as little as one session for the hypnosis to show its effect. To avail this natural technique you can search for a good hypnotist in your area. There is also hypnosis sessions available online which work almost as good as having a real hypnotist with you.

A natural way is the best way to cure anything, and smoking is no exception. One thing that I have learnt in my stop smoking expedition is that no one can help you unless you want to help yourself. Using this simple mindset, I was able to quit after many failed attempts. If I can do it, then so can you.

Smoking kills. These days we all know that, and where we can maybe forgive earlier generations for thinking smoking to a pretty reasonable lifestyle choice, we have no such excuses. The evidence is incontrovertible that smoking is a killer. But so too are lots of other things. The question is, therefore, how to stop smoking naturally?

My first point will sound a little facetious, but I promise it's the truthful answer given to me by a very committed smoker when I asked him if he wanted to stop smoking naturally. His reply was that his smoking habit would come to a pretty natural end when he died!

I'm sure the vast majority of smoker would like to give up before this most final of eventualities, but it's certainly important to remember the above as a cautionary tales. Give up or else!

The most natural of ways to stop smoking naturally is just to quit. To go cold turkey and never smoke anymore. We, let me just get to the end of this pack then, I hear you say! And that's really the point of it. Research has shown that only two percent of smokers that attempt to quit in this way are actually successful.

To be honest though, even the figures for smokers that use nicotine replacement therapies to help fight the fight are far from astounding. The reason for this comparative failure is that smoking works on so many different levels, and we originally started and now keep smoking for many different reasons.

Probably the very first craving we all had on our journey as smokers, or maybe just human beings, is the need to belong. The pressure to do what our friends, or the people we aspire to be friends with, are doing.

The psychology then get deeper still with Freud's suggestion that some people are Orally Fixated, and if they weren't putting cigarettes in their mouths, it would be food. Perhaps this explains why so many recovering smokers complain of piling on the pounds.

The final, and perhaps the easiest to deal with, is the chemical addiction that smoking feeds. To address this, treatments are much the same as for any other chemical dependency, such as for alcohol, and for heroin and such like.

When it comes down to it, the best advice to stop smoking naturally is, indeed, just to go for it. Throw them away. But before doing this, make sure you have addressed all of the other varied reasons why you started in he first place. Most people never bother to take this crucial step, and that is ultimately why they fail.

Do you want to quit smoking cigarettes naturally? If yes, then keep on reading. It is now believed that nicotine in cigarettes can create an addiction similar to that induced by drugs, such as heroin and cocaine. When we talk about tobacco, however, the term addiction should be understood in a broader sense that includes three different aspects:

Physical addiction induced by nicotine that is responsible for the syndrome of abstinence. Psychological addiction: smokers may think of tobacco as a "friend" and view the ritual of smoking as part of their lives. Social addiction, based on the social pressure that urges someone to smoke (advertising, group pressure etc.).

If you have decided to quit smoking, keep in mind that withdrawal symptoms are inevitable. The addiction to nicotine is very difficult to break, because it is a very strong substance. Nicotine has a stimulating effect and reaches the brain within seconds, increasing the levels of dopamine. Normally the peak of the withdrawal symptoms occurs 24 hours after the last cigarette and then fades gradually.

Some of the withdrawal symptoms are:
Irritability Hostility Anxiety Depression Difficulty in concentrating Slow heart beat Increased appetite

Here is a small trick to overcome the withdrawal symptoms: when you feel the urge to smoke, drink as much water as you can to fill your stomach in order to relax the walls and alleviate the hunger caused by abstinence.
