When I consider the health benefits of quitting smoking I do not even know where to start. They are so many but I will try going through most of them in the paragraphs that follow. When you are a smoker you know you have been cutting down on your life expectancy. You started cutting down on it the minute you smoked your first cigarette.

So when you quit smoking you begin to reverse the process. You begin to add to your life expectancy. The effects of smoking on your health are gradual. They are not immediately noticeable. So don't expect to feel like a whole new person two days after quitting either. The process will take time but your body will eventually get back to its clean state.

When you smoke you put yourself at the risk of falling sick from disease that you would never have had to worry about as a non smoker. Many diseases can be traced back to the effects of smoking. Like lung cancer, and all these other respiratory illnesses. So some of the health benefits of quitting smoking is you never have to worry about these illnesses.

Smokers reduce their chances of recovery from other illnesses too. It takes them a longer time to recover than a person who doesn't smoke. It may not be health related but its worth mentioning. Smoking is an expensive habit. As it becomes more addictive you begin to spend more money on it. So that's another reason why should stop.

Other health benefits of quitting smoking are that you also reduce the effects of passive smoking. Because the people around you are as at much risk as you are. So the best thing you can do is quit. There are easy ways of how to quit and you don't have to worry about relapse.
