The FDA has recently approved a shot to stop smoking, called SMART shot. Is a combination of two drugs called atarax and scopolamine (an antihistamine like Benadryl). These two medications block the nicotine receptors in the brain and also decrease withdrawal symptoms associated with smoking cessation.

After the initial shot, there is a continuing series of medicine over the next two weeks with a scopoamine patch and oral medications. Take note that the atarax and scopolamine are extracts of deadly Nightshade. Scopolamine is often prescribed for motion sickness and atarax is safe as an antihistamine. These medicines are in very low concentrations compared to lethal concentrations and hence no threat to life.

Benefits of using a stop smoking shot are that:

-They are effective, almost 80%

-do not force you to rely on nicotine gum or nicotine patches, and

-has fewer withdrawal symptoms than other methods of quitting smoking.

The disadvantages are:

-cost (cold turkey is free where the SMART shot costs around $ 450.00)

-the uncertainty of effectiveness (there is a slight chance that the shot doesn't work), and

-possible side effects.

Current oneshot is called NicVAX or nicotine vaccine. This shot works by keeping the nicotine from reaching the brain, which makes smoking less pleasant and encourages the user to stop.

In a clinical trial, 301-smoking a long time in different cities in the United States were given 4-5 shots in a period of six months, a dose, two doses or no dose. It was a double-blind study. A year in the studio, 14 per cent of participants Low dose close and exit from 16 per cent of the participants of higher dose. 73 people have abandoned the study. Only 6 per cent of the participants ' no deal ' quit.

As you can see, there are a couple of stop smoking shots on the market. To decide which fits, you should consult your doctor.
